Like its earlier editions, Engineering Design offers a more comprehensive overview of subjects than most design texts and offers a great deal more prescriptive advice on how to conduct design. Dieter concentrates on both material selection and design process implementation. Key Elements: All of the terminology is the same. Work breakdown structure, AHP, tolerances (including GD&T), human factors design, design against wear, the function of standardization in DFMA, error-proofing, and six sigma quality are some of the new subjects that have been added or expanded. A list of new terms and concepts is included at the end of each chapter as a new feature. Expansed examples give important topics more realism.
