This book explains the pathophysiology of pheochromocytoma by describing its anatomical and histological features, related signaling networks, experimental models, and programmed cell death. It clarifies specific aspects of clinical presentation, with a focus on headache and heart clinical symptoms. Additionally, it offers descriptions of laboratory, imaging, and clinical diagnosis, including differential diagnosis. The book uses a number of clinical cases to explain how pheochromocytoma is treated. Two cases have been documented, one involving inherited tumors that secrete catecholamines and the other involving an undetected pheochromocytoma that compounded multiple organ failure. It is therefore appropriate to state that this book takes a different tack than the traditional one when discussing pheochromocytoma.
