The Stranger, a literary classic published by Vintage International, tells the tale of Meursault, the titular Algerian, who murders someone after going to his mother's burial. His worldview, his range of emotions, and the overall silliness of the age come together to make for an engaging read.
The narrative is neatly split into two gripping halves, each narrated from Meursault's point of view. In the first half, we hear his opinions prior to the murder, and in the second, we follow him as he deals with his feelings following it.
